They are a member of the Fortune 500 and Forbes Magazine named them the best-managed company in the retail sector in 2005. The company operates more than 3,000 stores in 40 continental states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands and Advance employs more than 43,000 friendly and knowledge Team Members. The company sells automotive parts, accessories, batteries and maintenance items and gives customers access to thousands of parts that are available on a same-day or overnight basis at "ready-to-go" low prices. The stores' primary customer is the "Do-it-yourselfer" (DIY), but they also serve the professional installer market "Do-it-for-me" or (DIFM). Currently, approximately 81% of Advance’s stores offer a commercial delivery program for professional installers.
