For those of you in the industry that email us with your thoughts, you know we tend to toss out different ideas on how to be more competitive. But a friend of ours in the industry recently (and appropriately) told us what one of the largest private dealers in the country used to tell him: "the country sure needed pioneers but a lot of them ended up with arrows in their heads." Ten (plus) years ago, we convinced our college debate coach to buy an ethanol company (High Plains,) saying corn oil would be the future.
