And it is with the above thoughts in mind that I often come across as being so critical of AutoNation’s management.  I think the franchised auto retail sector is at a critical turning point (over the next five years.)  And the industry really needs the leader (measured by size and profitability) to lead, not stagnate or fall backwards as AutoNation seems to be doing now.  If it were simply the case that it was a difficult quarter, year, or a tough industry backdrop, I would be less concerned.
