From the best I can tell (reports on Wikipedia, the official free hugs website, and interviews on other web mediums with the band Sick Puppies,) sometime around 2004/2005, Shimon Moore (the lead singer of Australian Rock Band "Sick Puppies,") was working at Pitt Street Mall in Sydney Australia. 

Like many lead singers, I suspect Shimon hoped one day he could "make it big" so people would actually pay to come hear his band play.  And therefore he wouldn't have to work crappy 9 - 5 jobs in the mall.    

But in 2004/2005 that was Shimon's life.  Playing in a band (I suspect playing a lot of clubs at night,) and working (during the day) at the mall to make ...
