Automotive News reports this morning that Lithia will switch to no-haggle pricing over the next 3 years on all new and used vehicles. 

The program is being rolled out under the "Assured Cars and Trucks" program and is being tested at 20 stores. 

First of all, this is not really "new news." 

Lithia announced over a year ago on one of their conference calls that they were going "one price" on used vehicles.  And then backed away and shifted to the "assured vehicle pricing," which allows for limited negotiating. 

Let me be clear, going to a one price format is not easy.  And Lithia's shift to one pricing may very well take 5 years (instead of the planned 3 years.)
