AutoRetailStocks Rankings and Return on CEO (10/11/07)

July 10, 2007 marked the one year anniversary of when I began ranking the companies in the auto retail stocks index. 

As a quick reminder, in its first fiscal year (ending July 9, 2007,) the Auto Retail Stocks index was up 25.9%, better than the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which was up 23.1%, and the S&P 500, which was up 21.0%.

Yesterday marked the start of a new quarter.  Below are how the stocks performed from the close of the market July 9, 2007 to October 9, 2007 (first fiscal quarter of 2008) after adjusting for splits and dividends:
